The Hoof and Hike fundraiser is right around the corner! Here’s some helpful information to prepare yourself for the day:
-Please note that the parking lot is a 5 minute walk from the sap house (which is where the food and registration will be).
-If you plan on participating in the scavenger hunt, please bring your cel phone (camera) to take photos of each item on the list.
-If possible, please bring a smaller trailer for your horse(s) to conserve space in the parking lot.
-Please bring a pitch fork and muck bucket to clean up after your horse in the parking lot only. Poop is ok on the trails.
Horse Trail routes:
8.5 miles (3 hours)
7.5 miles (2 1/2-3 hours)

Please join us for our first annual Hoof and Hike event at the beautiful Merck Forest and Farmland Center to benefit The Dorset Equine Rescue.
Hikers as well as trail riders are welcome to come out and enjoy this fun event. Registration is $35 for both hikers and riders. Hikers 12 and under are free. Breakfast and lunch are included. Riders/horses will be limited to 25 for this first year and will need to preregister. The number of hikers however are unlimited. Although hikers can register the day of between 8:30am and 10:30am, we would appreciate if you could preregister if possible so we have an estimated head count for food, etc.
There will be 2-3 suggested routes for riders which will vary from 6-12 mile loops. There are shorter routes available for hikers. There will be a scavenger hunt for both hikers and riders and you’ll use your smart phone to take photos of each item. There are some amazing prizes! Beau, our mini horse will make a special guest appearance in his kissing booth too! This is going to be a fun event for the whole family! Please register through this link:
*Please note that we do require an up to date coggins on every horse who wishes to participate. Please email a copy to firstname.lastname@example.org
